Guzto Ko! has a stage where singers / bands play at night, when the resto turns into a bar.
Bistek Tagalog (PHP 130)
This Filipino beef steak was tender and had the right combination of calamansi and the tang of soy sauce. It's not the best Bistek Tagalog I've ever tasted, but it's nicely cooked.
Deep Fried Palaka (PHP 220)
Yes, I eat frogs. Coming from a Chinese family, I've been introduced to eating deep fried frogs early on. The good thing about Guzto Ko! 's version is the coating. It's not too thick and doesn't leave a flour-like feeling on your tongue. However, me and my colleagues found the dish quite bland even with the vinegar. I keep searching for the taste of spices that I am used to when this is ordered in some Chinese restaurants. Yes, this is a Filipino restaurant, but I can't help the comparison.
Chopsuey (PHP 198)
The waitress said this is one of their bestsellers. I honestly don't know why, but my colleagues liked this.
Pork Sisig (PHP 198)
Now this, I believe is a bestseller. The best part about Guzto Ko! 's version of this Filipino favorite is the bigger chunks of wonderfully crunchy pork. You are also given the option to make it spicy or not spicy. I know that some people would balk at the amount of oil you can see on the pic. We were skeptical at first too, but the first spoonful erased all doubts and made this one of our favorite dishes. Besides, what's sisig without the "sauce"?
Cheezy Squid (PHP 265)
My personal favorite! This is the first time I've tasted grilled squid stuffed with cheese, tomato, and onions cooked this good. The squid was juicy and had absolutely no hint of what I call "sea-fishy-taste" or lansa in Tagalog. It's cooked in butter and served on a sizzling plate. Must try!! ^_^
If you're on a diet, steer clear of Guzto Ko! Bar & Grill Restaurant. The food here is decidedly Filipino - meaning delicious with a blissful disregard for health. There are some Chinese dishes, but it's their Filipino dishes that will make you want to go back. (At least in my case ;P)
Service was great. The lone waitress was very attentive, and had the initiative to serve us a glass of water each without being asked. So, to wrap up, my whole post in a table:
